"A thing of beauty is a joy forever" wrote the poet John Keats in his "Ode to a Grecian Urn". He could have easily have been writing about the timeless beauty of natural wood.

The sensuous delights of wood have been appreciated since the dawn of civilisation. For thousands of years man has cherished the unique look, feel and even the scent of real wood. But the aesthetic qualities account for only a fraction of its appeal. It is also one of the most durable natural materials available to man.

Teak is one of the worlds' most valuable woods. Hard, heavy and strong, it has natural properties, which help it to withstand the elements and is almost immune to decay. Moreover, teak actually hardens with age as the years pass. Teak beams have been found, in good condition, in Far Eastern temples over 1,000 years old. Teak has also has been used extensively in naval construction for centuries.
